Targeting the PLK1-PRC1 Axis for Inducing Cell Death in Genomically Silent Pediatric Cancers: Translating Laboratory Discoveries to Clinical Applications

How aberrant PRC1 activation by a dominant oncogene can confer malignancy but provide opportunities for targeted therapy, and identify PRC1 expression as an important determinant to predict the efficacy of PLK1 inhibitors being used in clinical trials.

RNA and protein super-resolved imaging using fluorescent light-up aptamers

Dr. Franziska Grün (Postdoc at the Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology (IPMB) Division of Bioorganic Chemistry & Chemical Biology)

RNA and DNA aptamers bind their targets e.g. small molecules or proteins with high affinity and specificity. Fluorescent light-up aptamers (FLAP) can be applied with fluorogenic dyes allowing advanced fluorescence microscopy.
